A New Kind of “Homework”

Our oldest daughter, Le’Ann, is a former sixth grade teacher.

Following the terrorist attack, she felt that she needed to be spending more time with her own family… and that perhaps other families were feeling the same thing.  She called me… and we talked about a philosophy of homework.

The next day, I received an e-mail message from her, outlining her “new” homework plan.  I thought it was outstanding… and so appropriate for the time in which we are now living.  She has“reduced” the amount of homework in order for parents and children to spend more time together… getting to know one another even better.

The response:  overwhelming approval from her parents… and her students!

Please consider “adopting” this idea… and perhaps doing a little more to bring families closer together.  I’d be interested in hearing about your ideas and the responses you get from parents.  riney@htcomp.net
